Francesca Granata grew up near Turin in Italy, moving to Milan to study Spanish and German at university. She went on to graduate with a Masters degree in TV production, landing a job at a large Italian TV company. Here she worked on shows such as Celebrity Survivor, managing the production crew on location in the Dominican Republic. In 2008 Francesca made the bold decision to give up her life in Italy and move to London to be with her fiancé. She spent six months studying to improve her English, and then approached her local volunteer centre looking for an opportunity to practice her English in a work environment. She was put in touch with Chike Dunkwu, Project Manager at Vision Radio, and the rest as they say, is history:
“I’ve always had a strong interest in media and communication and was thrilled to take on the position of Producer and Head of Programming. Every day is a new challenge working at Vision Radio; I research material for the shows, commission writers, actors and DJs, and manage the production process. Another part of my job is to liaise with the people of Hammersmith and Fulham to find out what they want from Vision Radio - I get the opportunity to meet so many interesting people through my work here.” Francesca’s shows include Culture Shock, Fables and FairyTales .
